Haiti Green Project is a nonprofit organization that has been operating in the forefront of the entire crisis in Haiti.
We have been helping communities such as the ones in Thiotte and Gros Jean to become more sustainable not only by providing them with tools by training the farmers as well on the usage of composting, better irrigation methods.
We are working on implementing a pilot project of anaerobic digesters which will provide cooking fuel and electricity in the village of Gros Jean. The residual can be used as fertilizer as well. This pilot project will be later on duplicated in other parts of Haiti.
We are working of providing women the tools that will allow them to participate in the reconstruction of Haiti by training in professions that were viewed as traditional male jobs.
We are working on building a sustainable model town where renewable energy will be in the forefront.
