Haiti Green Project is a non profit organization which goal is to make Haiti a model of environmental standards. We would like to influence sustainable practices by implementing the usage of renewable energy. For years, we have used fossil fuels and have cut trees to provide charcoal for our cooking. The later has caused not only deforestation but erosion of our soil as well. These carbon based fuels have a direct impact on the environment in terms of greenhouse gas, acid rain and global warming. Haiti, an island of revolutionary thinking should have been in the forefront in the usage of sustainable energy. Due to its geographic location, Haiti has plenty of sun, water and wind for its renewable energy usage. Energy that will sustain itself and respond to the growing demand of a new Haiti.

Haiti green Project's focal point is to bring forth and introduce solar and wind energy to schools, hospitals, churches and factories. Teaching our finest young men and women the skills of installing and maintaining solar panels, solar powered pumps, green roofing, hydro and wind turbines. Skills in the long run will make them more competitive in the global market.

Haiti for years has been an abandon house with no structure and foundation. Haiti Green Project believes that we can make a difference by lobbying the government to make new laws on deforestation to prevent environmental degradation, mudslides, floods.

Haiti Green Project has the desire for the government to focus on groundbreaking projects like drainage, sewage, sanitation not only in the cities but in the rural areas as well. We are inclined to look into new ways to generate fresh clean water; help our farmers with energy efficient ways of irrigation and planting. Create programs that will financially assist our farmers.

We are keen on building shelters for those who have no place to live after a disaster.

Recycling will be a major factor in going green.

 Going green no longer complicates the future. Together we can create, rebuild and invest in our country by not only monetary donation but by faithfully committing ourselves to change as well. Natural disasters and negligence have burdened our country for years and Haiti Green Project is clearly aware of Haiti's urgent need for change.

::Projects :::::...

In a country with this kind of crisis, the minimum reforestation strategy has two goals:
1.  Replacement trees must be planted in overwhelming numbers and have special protection, significance and a head start over their future removal.  Otherwise, the forests that can emerge from trees may never appear.
2.  Not only must the trees be highly valued and protected, but also every Haitian young and old who starts, grows, plants and cares for them must be educated, employed and respected.<<more
